OK guys, I have never thought about using the tool you are describing but I am looking into it now. Dremel has one called the Pet Nail Trimming Tool which I assume is the tool you are all talking about. That is what makes this site so terrific-people helping others to help their dogs. Thanks!!!!

One other thing I learned about my dremel is that the female family members like to use it for their own nails!

Dave,

Great post on using the Dremel tool for nails. I’ve been using one since we got our Brittany, Dixie, 5 years ago.

One thing that I will do if the nails are real long is to trim them with the clippers well away from the quick, then finish off with the Dremel tool. That seems to reduce the heat build up, which is the only thing that bothers Dixie!

I went to the dremel tool several years ago too. Every time I got out the nail clippers I could not find my dogs…..
