The light
Training young Brittany dogs is always fun to me. I get a lot of satisfaction seeing them mature on birds.
My new phase I class recently started and since a new class starts every couple of months, I always look forward to each new class of dogs. The joy is seeing … them figure out what the good Lord put them on earth for. The proverbial light that comes on is a moment of pure excitement for both the dog and myself.
I guess that’s why I take my job so serious. Folks are sharing that moment with me, a wonderful moment where pup thinks “Ah-Hah!, I get it!” and it really makes me proud.
There are many of you who train your pointing dog yourselves. You get to see that moment and it is something you remember for a long time. That is the day you wish to proclaim to the world that your dog knows what his job is all about. A lot of training is yet to be done with that pup but at least now he knows he has a mission in life.
If you live a life that is hurried and hectic then maybe training your pup is one of the best times of your life each day. Maybe you realize you don’t have time for your pup’s training and entrust that moment to me. If it’s the latter, I thank you for that trust.
Rub your Brittanys belly for me tonight and give him / her a treat for me.
